Radio Commercials - 'Scottish'

Over the years we have run radio commercials on Premier Radio, London. This has been fun and challenging at the same time. The old saying, 'Half of all advertising doesn't work but nobody knows which half' has a cerain resonance. One of the keys is a great script. The next is getting somebody to read it, and then there is the production side.

Some of these ads were done 'down the line' ( via ISDN) and we did not have the pleasure of meeting the lady whose voice you hear in the ads featured here. Notwithstanding, her sheer professionalism and talent shines through, aided and abetted by the production skills of Trevor Smith at Premier Radio. We featured a Scottish female voice in these ads because of the assoiation, in the eyes of the British public, between the Scottish culture and financial prudence. There is a great deal of very good financial management that takes place 'north of the border' and this, perhaps, is why such a connotation exists.
